Unexpected Harvest

September 9th, 2009 · No Comments

Every year  I eagerly await the first ripe tomato . Yes, I fall into the quiet competition with all of my gardening friends.  Only this year the blight took much of the fun out of it.  I got a few nice red ripe tomatoes but quickly lost  all of my plants.  I tossed out my enthusiasm with my plants.
Now I have an unexpected harvest.  It is truly organic.  Gardening with no extra chemicals just fresh air , warm sunny days and pure rain. ..neglect…. I hardly looked at the remaining plants.

What do I have now?  Peppers the size of bananas and pumpkins the size of oranges.  Unexpected , surprising and fun.

My jack o’lanterns will be diminutive but I’ll have a lot of them! Look for tiny eyes glowing in the dark from my house this year.
