Ghosts – Make one to light up your Yard this Halloween

October 20th, 2009 · No Comments

I have had questions on how I made these for my yard.  Here are some quick instructions.

  • Needed:
Stake ( tomato, broom handle, tomato cage),
  • Wooden crossbar ( ruler, Paint stirrer, dowel),
  • 1 sting of white Christmas lights  (10 light set) ,
  • White plastic table cloth,
  • String  or wire Black electrical tape,
  • White treat bucket or empty plastic milk jug

 4.5 ft high
  1. Simply place your stake in the ground.  Maybe add a small crossbar for the ghost’s shoulders.
  2. Loosely twirl the lights around the stake from the top leave the plug end at the bottom.
  3. Place the bucket or jug over the the top of the stake and secure it.  Whether you use a milk jug or bucket poke at least two holes an inch form the bottom near the rim.  This way you can thread string or wire into the hole and tie the bucket to the crossbar.
  4. Next drape the tablecloth over the bucket and tie a string around the bucket near the crossbar .  This is the Ghost’s neck.
  5. Cut out eyes and a mouth form the electrical tape and tape them to the tablecloth for the face.

Voila a ghost for your yard.  Happy Haunting!     2 ft high
